Cape Hatteras KOAMeet Your Hosts![]() When Mo and Beth Vandesteene came to manage the Cape Hatteras KOA, they had a vision for the look and feel of the campground. They are proud now to see their vision coming to fruition. "We are proud of our new café courtyard and Beth continues to do a remarkable job with the grounds and flowers," says Mo. Prior to joining the KOA family, they ran a resort in Massachusetts. "We enjoyed the hospitality business, but once our kids grew up, we wanted to look for something more," says Mo. The KOA Work Kamper Program provided them a way to do just that. After heading south to Miami, they ended up becoming manager trainees. They worked at a couple of campgrounds, and then came to Cape Hatteras. Coming with them is their commitment to providing outrageous service. "One of our goals is for each worker to make a camper's day," says Mo. Making sure that they have the right people, doing the right jobs, is one way to make sure that happens. "I am the one in the office and Beth works the grounds," says Mo, "it may not be the "normal" way, but it uses our strengths to benefit the campground." Managing the Cape Hatteras KOA allows for some free time during the winter months, so Mo and Beth can continue to do what they love, which is to travel and visit other campgrounds. However, the most important aspect is the ability to visit their 7, and soon to be 8, grandchildren. Come meet Mo Vandesteene. |
